Lightbringer (Silverlight 4) by Laken Cane

This book is about Trinity newly resurrected after her death defeating the rifters she must learn to live again as her new person. Unfortunately she doesn't have the time. Executioners are coming for Rhys and his dragons and there will be some innocent victims who get caught in the crosshairs. Can Trinity figure out who she is in time to protect the ones she loves? 

This book was awesome! I loved seeing Trinity struggle to get back the girl that she was before she died. It was really weird to see her acting like a zombie as Amias' vampire. Shane broke my heart I felt so bad for him and that he was forced to become something he hated and hunted. And the other guys, Clayton, Rhys, Lea and Angus all have their own struggles. I really felt bad for Derry and the little kids and wanted to hurt someone. I enjoyed when Trinity finally made Leo hers and I was like "it's about time!" I do have to admit I found the ending kind of abrupt but I enjoyed the book nonetheless. A great series.

Peacemaker (Silverlight 3) by Laken Cane

This book is about Trinity and her men having to defend the humans against a new type of vampire that have few weaknesses. Trinity and her men will go to battle for a city that hates them and all supernaturals but before the fight is over big sacrifices will be made. Can Trinity and her loves make it out alive and unscathed?

 This book was so much fun! So action packed. I loved all the guys and the way station (I kind of wish there had been more info about the people coming to the way station but it's a minor thing). I loved Angus and his grief, Rhys is secretiveness about what kind of supernatural he his. I wish we had learned more about Jade and Amanda but maybe in the next book. Leo and Shane are definitely my favorite guys and unfortunately Amias is my least favorite he just gets on my nerves for some reason but he does protect Trinity so I guess I don't hate him to much. All of the characters are awesome and the story was very interesting and hard to put down a great read.

Caretaker (Silverlight 2) by Laken Cane

This book is set six months after the events of the first book and Trinity and her men are trying to live life as best they can with the absence of Angus. The police captain asks Trinity to find the missing wife of the judge that sentenced Angus to prison. Trinity will do whatever it takes to save him. Meanwhile bad things are happening to Angus in the prison and Miriam is acting even weirder than usual. Can Trinity figure out all the secrets and protect the ones she loves? 

 This book was crazy! It was so action packed! The events on the island were crazy and I loved meeting Leo. The whole situation with Clayton and Miriam comes to a head and Trinity has to make some hard decisions. The way station was very cool and I loved the cemetery and the nod to the Rune Alexander series. I also loved that Laken Cane has written a series of men who are willing to support Trinity without being uber jealous of each other. This was a great book.

Bloodhunter (Silverlight 1) by Laken Cane

This book is about a human named Trinity that was attacked by a vampire and her entire family was killed. Six years later she's not quite recovered from her traumatic experience but she knows one thing. She's different. The master vampire who changed her and killed her entire family gives her a sword named Silverlight so that she can destroy vampires because she's a vampire hunter. Not any vampire hunter but a bloodhunter and she's a rarity that her community needs to keep them safe. With the help of several different men she'll protect her own no matter the cost. 

 I really loved this book it was so fresh and new and interesting. I loved that Trinity is pretty much just a human thrust into the supernatural world and told to figure it out. Yes she has friends but it's really hard to figure out who she's supposed to be able to trust. I really liked Shane and Clayton, Miriam got on my nerves a lot. Rhys wasn't there enough for me to really feel much for him. Angus was a mystery I wasn't sure how to feel about him but he grew on me. The ending sucked (in a good way) it made me sad and made me want to keep reading. It was a really fun book.

Harbinger Bend by Laken Cane

This book is about a woman named Kate, she's lived for nine years under the thumb of her abusive husband until she escapes. On her way to a safe place her car breaks down in a small town called Harbinger Bend there she meets the master vampire of the town name Quillan. They are both attracted to each other but Kate knows just how dangerous it can be for those around her, she's determined to leave the town as soon as her car is fixed. Unfortunately she gets caught up in a murder investigation and can't leave. She fears her husband might find her but she also wants to help find the missing woman. As feelings grow between Quillan and Kate and the details of the woman's disappearance grow she knows there's no escaping her past. Will she be able to have a new future free from pain and fear? 

 This book was so great! I loved Kate, she's beaten and she's battered but she's not out. She's a tough lady! I wasn't expecting her to have powers but it was really cool when it happened. I like her visions and the way they are described. I understand her fear of her husband who's been her captor for almost a decade but when she kept saying he would kill Quillan I was doubtful but I think that's because in my mind vampires always win over werewolves that just my opinion though. I loved the mystery of trying to find out who killed Anna and then when the murders are revealed it was so unexpected! I love when things surprise me and you don't see things coming. I loved Quillan and how he's so determined to protect Kate even though she's human. Eleanor is awesome I wouldn't mind reading a story about her she's just so badass and I loved that she was protective of Quillan's feelings. This story is so fun

, the mystery, the romance, the paranormal, the wonderful characters. It's definitely different than other Laken Cane books but just as awesome! I enjoyed that there was more romance which has always been my favorite genre but it would still appeal to paranormal/urban fantasy readers as well.

The Witch's Daughter (Rune Alexander Series 7) by Laken Cane

This book was amazing! After the cliffhanger in Wormwood Echoes I was excited to dive into this book.

The first chapter was awesome! We get to see a beloved character thought to be dead miraculously comes back from the grave but is it real? We also get to learn some very bad things about another character thought to be dead.

Rune goes through so many things during this book I felt like I was on the journey with her. I have to say almost nothing good happens to Rune during this book but she does save the day as usually.

Shadows Past (Rune Alexander Series 5.5) by Laken Cane

I loved this short story. We get to go back in time and see the Crew before the start of the series. We get to see Jeremy who I still really hate and we get to see Z again awww Z... loved the mystery and I can't wait to see if the answers to my questions will be answered in future books. A nice little story perfect for Christmas and while we all wait for book 6.

This book was freaking amazing! This series keeps getting better book after book i'm not kidding! So many things going on and the ending omfg are you serious?!!! You can't end a book like that noooo....

Laken Cane manages to suck you into the book and have you holding your breath on every word from start to finish and when the story is done it'll blow your mind, wow just wow.

I was happy things didn't go the way I thought they would but at the same time I was like "What?! What?! Are you kidding me?! but... I don't.... understand?" This book will definitely make your head explode to the point where you'll be demanding book 6 RIGHT NOW! that's how freaking awesome this book is and how good a writer Laken Cane is.

Obsidian Wings (Rune Alexander Series 4) by Laken Cane

This book was awesome there was so much going on! We see COS again (I really hate those guys) and we get to meet a new kind of Other which is really cool because in each book we get a new look at the different kinds of Others.

 Many things happen that are so unexpected I didn't see them coming. Be warned some parts may make you cry. This was a very emotional read for me and I love when books do that, it shows the author has managed to make me connect with their characters and those are the best kinds of books =D. Another great addition to the series.

This book was great. Rune has just returned from visiting a clinic to talk about her demons and get control of her monster and her emotions. She comes home to find out that someone has a problem and is in need of protection. Rune vows to protect this person no matter what. Secrets are revealed and people die. This book will keep you in suspense from the first to last page. Warning to those who are squeamish there is violence and it made me flinch a couple of times and swear so you have been warned.

Shiv Crew (Rune Alexander Series 1) by Laken Cane

This was an awesome book! We meet Rune and her crew, Jake, Raze, Z, Ellis, Levi, Denim and Lex who protect the humans from Others (non-humans). We spend the whole book trying to figure out who the bad guys are and it turns out the bad guys are the good guys and the good guys are the bad guys... what?! Yes it was a little confusing but along the way things begin to make sense and with every new chapter your love and admiration for Rune and her crew will grow I guarantee it. The most interesting part was finding out what Rune is, there are hints during the story but we don't get definite answers until near the end of the book. A really fun book if you're interested in paranormal, mystery and a hint of romance.
