Skin (Flesh 2) by Kylie Scott

This is the second book in the Flesh series. Set six months after the end of the world we find a woman Roslyn who's living with several other survivors in the school where she was the librarian. Unfortunately for her they are running out of food and a stranger has offered them a trade. He wants a woman in exchange for giving the school survivors food. The only women left are an elderly lady, a teenage girl and Ros. The group of survivors vote and she has to join the stranger. She's furious that she's been sold for food. How could her fellow survivors do this to her? Nick was forced to go it on his own after the events at the end of the previous book and he's tired of being alone so he comes up with the plan to trade food in exchange for Roslyn. He's been watching her and he doesn't trust the people she's hiding out with he's not willing to leave her there with danger everywhere. He fears for her life because of the zombies and her fellow survivors. So when she reluctantly joins him she has no idea what to expect. She definitely doesn't expect to be chained to a bed and she definitely doesn't expect Nick not do to anything. But he doesn't do anything other than feed her and keep her feet warm and try and get close to her. She fights him at every turn until When things turn to shit and their home is destroyed they have to leave. Nick is furious at Ros for destroying their safe haven and Ros is devastated at the loss of all she knows. On the road they come upon enemies and she and Nick work to get themselves out alive.

I really liked this book after the first one I was curious to find out what would happen to other survivors how they were dealing in this new world. We find out that even if a place seems safe nowhere is ever safe, accidents can happen. Ros fights Nick so hard and with just cause he's bought her and chained her to the bed so she can't get away from him. But he is a nice guy he doesn't try to hurt her he just wants to keep her safe. Of course he wants her but he just has to convince her that he can protect her and love her like she deserves. The ending again was so unexpected! We get to see Dan, Ali and Finn again which I thought was really fun and we get to see how things have been going for the trio since the last book. Of course in this new world the humans seem to be more dangerous than the zombies.
