This book is about Lord Adrian a man with lots of power. He hates his wife but he's with her for the social and financial alliance his marriage brings him. Him and his wife loathe each other and don't live together so Lord Adrian decides to get himself a "pet". His pet is a young woman who willingly gave up control. Lord Adrian can do with her as he pleases and it pleases him to use her in many different ways. Unfortunately there might be someone with even more power than him in the shadows.This was an interesting read. It had a "Story of O" feeling to me because the pet willingly gave up her freedom to be used as a plaything by a stranger. She never fights Lord Adrian though she is reluctant to do some things but eventually obeys. The one thing I didn't like is that the pet never has a name. I don't know why but that bothered me a little. Lord Adrian is dirty. The things he does to his pet are naughty and he seems to have fixation on anal. There was a scene in the book that i'm not sure what to make of and there are some questions left unanswered in the book because it ends on a cliffhanger. I'm curious to see what will happen in the next book.
