Claiming Their Slave (Barbarian Mates 3) by Sue Lyndon

This book is about a young woman named Ava. She's a slave in a village because he father was a criminal when she's caught with supplies to help her escape to freedom she is sold on the auction block. Fortunately for her a banded man comes across the auction and saves her from being bought by a cruel new masters but will this barbarian be any better? Jaxon is attracted to Ava from the minute he sees her. He never dreamed his mate would be a human but he can't help how he feels about her and his brother Wolfe agrees. Ava learns quickly that her new masters are kind but stern they aren't above punishing her with a sound spanking if she does something dangerous. When her mother-in-law has a vision of humans attack Ava's new home she fears she might lose the new freedom she's acquired as well as her chance at love. Will her new mates stay safe? Can she submit to them to have the ultimate reward, freedom, safety and family?

This story was very interesting. I enjoyed the idea of a barbarian species living in the woods and that humans are kept in safe little villages it gave a clear "us" and "them" kind of vibe. I loved that Jaxon and Wolfe are so taken with Ava even though they weren't interested in having a human mate. Ava finds it hard to follow orders but she's aroused by the idea of their punishment. When her mil sees Jaxon being attack from behind she runs out without hesitation to save him even though she knows she'll be punished for disobey them and not staying safe in the house. I love that the guys punish her not to harm her but to make sure that she stays safe. I also really liked the idea of them being twins, one light, one dark that was really cool. A nice introduction to the series, I now need to go and read the first books.
