Transforming Emma (Lockets and Lace Book 20) by Linda Carroll-Bradd

This book is about Emma a rancher's daughter who is returning home after a year of education learning. She returns to her home and reconnects with an old friend the foreman of the ranch Brett. Brett feels that he is not enough for her but when unexpected events and guests show up can the two of them find love together and rekindle the friendship they had before she left?

This books was a sweet read, I loved Emma she was such a nice girl even though a lot of the people around her weren't always nice or willing to let her be herself rather than who they thought she ought to be. I loved Brett he was very nice but he didn't think he was good enough for Emma since she returned from high society living away at school. They both care for each other but don't know how to say so.

I was sad about Deiter getting chicken pox, I was waiting for something horrible to happen but it didn't. The boy recovers and you can see that Emma loves him and cares for him a great deal. I was really annoyed with Emma's aunt and her father's guests they were so selfish and pompous. But Emma deals with them with class. The ending was the best part and I really did enjoy how the story happened, it went by so fast!

I would definitely recommend this book to others if you're looking for a short, sweet historical romance with likable and some not so likable characters that provide a quick fun story.
