Vair: Beyond the X-Club by Hettie Ivers

This is the continuation of Amy's story from The X-Club. It's nine weeks after her night with Vair and he's a little upset she has contacted him since. So he does the most natural thing and that is blackmail her into coming back to his club. She fears for her safety but she's still attracted to him so she returns. She either plays by his rules or her career as a journalist is over. But can Vair's actions be more than just blackmail? Could he have serious feelings for her?

This book was hot! I loved the hint of dub-con in this story. Amy's attracted by Vair but he scares her and she feels like she's being coerced even though she doesn't put up much of a fight and always has a ton of orgasms. I loved Jay he's an interesting character it would have been fun to see some of his interactions with the Ks. I loved that Vair is pretty much telling Amy that he wants her forever but she's afraid and uses the blackmailing excuse not to own up to her feelings but eventually she realizes that he loves her and they agree to be together. This was a fun continuation to the original story by Anna Zaires. Great read.

The Krinar Experiment by Charmaine Pauls

This story is set before the Great Panic. Drako is sent to earth on a reconnaissance mission to find out if the Krinar and humans can coexist together but his pod crashes and he's badly injured and captive by the South African Secret Service. Knowing only torture by the hands of humans Drako's only goal is to escape and inform the Elders that humans are barbaric. Knowing that Drako isn't human the SASS get the help of a nurse from a nearby hospital. Ilse is a nurse at a hospital where drugs are in low supply and patients sometimes get turned away. When the SASS come and ask for her colleagues help she volunteers herself instead. What they show her is atrocious and the conditions they've left Drako in horrify her. After trying to help she's sent away. On her second visit she is forced to make it look like she's helping the SASS but her plan is to help him escape. When he does so thinking she has betrayed him and is as bad as the other humans he returns to Krina and Ilse becomes a fugitive in her country. When Drako returns to get revenge he learns that humans are more than they seem and a love blossoms between the unlikely pair.

This book so fast paced! It was crazy so much action and the side story about the black market was awesome. I hated that Drako was so unfamiliar with humans that he couldn't realize that Ilse hadn't betrayed him but only acted a part so that she could rescue him. When he returns to seduce her as revenge and then turn her over to his friend as his Charl I was sad for the both of them. Then she refuses and returns to earth and is captured by SASS! I was so happy when Drako showed up to save her. This book was definitely a rollercoaster of emotions. A great addition to the Krinar universe.

Number 101: A Krinar World Novella by Heather Knight

This book is about a young girl named Eden. She had cancer and now her parents keep her close to protect her. One night she sneaks out to a club and manages to get in even though she's only twenty. Her goal? Kiss a hot guy. Number 38 on her bucket list. But she gets more than she bargained for when she ends up with a handsome man. Unbeknownst to her he's a Krinar but he omits this fact during their growing relationship. Misunderstandings happen and the return of her cancer makes her push him away so he doesn't get hurt watching her suffer through her illness. As she's about to die she gets the greatest gift ever love and life. Darak and falling love become number 101 on her bucket list.

This book made me cry so hard, Eden is so sweet but has a lot of guilt about the pain she put her parents through when she had cancer. She wants to save Darak those same emotions by pushing him away. They both lied to each and both are hurt but when he cancer comes back she regrets pushing him away because she loves him. I loved that he was wiling to stand up to his parents and make sure that Eden lives by making her his Charl it was so sweet. This book was amazing.

Krinar Revenge by Heather Heistand

This book is set after the failed resistance attempt in the original Krinar Chronicles. Conway has just lost his mother five years after she left to be a K's charl. He wants revenge for her death because Ks and their Charls don't die from aging only accidents so he's convinced it was murder. He sets out to join a resistance cell and ends up finding a beautiful woman. Venus works for her father and the resistance but when she sees Conway she wants him and the feeling is mutual. When an important K technology gets stolen from Conway by Venus' family members and he's left nearly dead she accepts the help of a K to keep him alive. Unfortunately things go south for the new couple. Can Venus and Conway save each other and begin a lasting relationship?

This book was short and faced paced. We get to find out a little about another resistance movement. We see an evil K although in other books Ks have been shown as dominant and ruthless they've never been portrayed as evil which I truly feel Fevet was. I enjoyed learning about some new Krinar technology that doesn't exist in the original trilogy and some that do. This was a fun short story about two people coming together to fight a threat to themselves and humankind.

Krinar's Desire by Cara Bristol

This book is about Caitlyn she's an undercover reporter that's sent into a K building to find out more about them. But Arak the man in charge doesn't want to give away the K's secrets but he does want to seduce her. He does everything he can to get her to be with him. Unfortunately for Caitlyn he colleagues think she is being manipulated by the Krinar hunk and she finds herself in real danger. Can Arak save her in time?

This book was fun I liked that we got to see more of the resistance but I felt bad for Caitlyn that she got caught up in such a bad situation. Arak was kind and seemed to have real feelings for Caitlyn and he saves her when she's kidnapped by the resistance. The sex was hot and the chemistry between Caitlyn and Arak was there right from the beginning. This was a fun fast paced addition to the Krinar World.

The Krinar's Bane by May Sage

Eva is a sweet girl who's celebrating her birthday at club. When she leaves to find the bathroom she finds herself cornered by some thugs. An unlikely savior comes to her rescue a K. When Zarken sees the human woman he steps in to defend her not knowing that she would become his obsession. He's determined to have her until he grows bored of him but luckily for both of them he discovers that Eva is the first person in centuries to keep his interest and he has no plans on letting her go.

This story was cute I loved that Zarken was so sure that he would grow bored with Eva but she's so different that, that doesn't happen. I loved Eva's innocence but that she was still wiling to see him despite her friend's warnings. When he leaves at the end of his stay and she's alone again they both discover that they miss each other and that they are the best thing to ever happen to one another and it was really sweet when Zarken realizes he was an idiot and returns for her it was really sweet.

Krinar Diplomacy by Josie Litton

Charlotte works for the State and on her way to work during the Great Panic she gets caught in a mob and in front of the Krinar embassy and is injured. Jarek is an adviser sent to earth during this time and the minute he sees Charlotte everything changes. He knows she's meant to be his and so he saves her. After entering the world of the Krinar Charlotte sees many wondrous things and Jarek discovers more about her as well. When her boss asks Charlotte to be a "spy" and report the things she sees of the Krinar she unknowingly is in danger but Jarek is there to protect her. She discovers that the violent alien invaders aren't all the humans thought they were and Jarek is kind and they plan on being together forever.

I really liked Charlotte and Jarek they were a cute couple. I did not like Loomis he was really creepy. Jarek was nice but also possessive like all Krinar men. Charlotte is brave and sweet at the same time and the two of them have hot sex but the relationship between the two of them also grows into a long lasting union. A great short story.
