What Trouble Is: A Short Story (Flesh 2.6) by Kylie Scott

Lindsay is out searching for supplies and is in the supermarket when she bumps into a man called Aiden. Neither is willing to trust their lives to a stranger so they have kind of Mexican standoff. Unfortunately they end up in even more trouble. Can the two of them escape the danger and survive?
I've said it before but I REALLY love this series! I just love the zombie romance thing and Ms. Scott writes it so well. I loved that Lindsay was willing to protect herself even if she had to kill. I love that the minute a danger was posed to Lindsay even though he didn't know her, he stepped in to help her. The reveal of her pregnancy was unexpected but very fun. I REALLY wished this book had been longer because the stories in the series are so good! Do they stay together? How is the baby? Do they go in search of other survivors or just stay hidden away in their home? These are all questions that would have been great if they'd been answered. But other than that I did enjoy what had been written. I just can't get enough of this series and really wished there were more books.

Room With A View: Hot Down Under (Flesh 2.5) by Kylie Scott

Natalie unfortunately is stuck in her fourth floor apartment when the apocalypse happens and there's no way out. She thinks she's saved when a good looking young man throws her supplies but unfortunately he's disappeared and she's alone once again. That is until he returns once again and this time he's not leaving without her. Can they survive and grow their relationship?
I love this series soooo much! Natalie was cute I liked her and Angus was young and brave. I loved how he climbed the building to get to her, after killing the infected of course. They have quick and dirty sex and it's hot. They then prepare to leave making reference to the gated community from the previous books. I really wish this had been longer because I just can't get enough of these stories but I loved this short story just as well even if it was short. Great little novella.

Skin (Flesh 2) by Kylie Scott

This is the second book in the Flesh series. Set six months after the end of the world we find a woman Roslyn who's living with several other survivors in the school where she was the librarian. Unfortunately for her they are running out of food and a stranger has offered them a trade. He wants a woman in exchange for giving the school survivors food. The only women left are an elderly lady, a teenage girl and Ros. The group of survivors vote and she has to join the stranger. She's furious that she's been sold for food. How could her fellow survivors do this to her? Nick was forced to go it on his own after the events at the end of the previous book and he's tired of being alone so he comes up with the plan to trade food in exchange for Roslyn. He's been watching her and he doesn't trust the people she's hiding out with he's not willing to leave her there with danger everywhere. He fears for her life because of the zombies and her fellow survivors. So when she reluctantly joins him she has no idea what to expect. She definitely doesn't expect to be chained to a bed and she definitely doesn't expect Nick not do to anything. But he doesn't do anything other than feed her and keep her feet warm and try and get close to her. She fights him at every turn until When things turn to shit and their home is destroyed they have to leave. Nick is furious at Ros for destroying their safe haven and Ros is devastated at the loss of all she knows. On the road they come upon enemies and she and Nick work to get themselves out alive.

I really liked this book after the first one I was curious to find out what would happen to other survivors how they were dealing in this new world. We find out that even if a place seems safe nowhere is ever safe, accidents can happen. Ros fights Nick so hard and with just cause he's bought her and chained her to the bed so she can't get away from him. But he is a nice guy he doesn't try to hurt her he just wants to keep her safe. Of course he wants her but he just has to convince her that he can protect her and love her like she deserves. The ending again was so unexpected! We get to see Dan, Ali and Finn again which I thought was really fun and we get to see how things have been going for the trio since the last book. Of course in this new world the humans seem to be more dangerous than the zombies.

Flesh (Flesh 1) by Kylie Scott

The end of the world happened and things are different now. Ali has been hiding in her neighbors attic for a while just trying to survive. When Ali has to leave her attic refuge to find food she runs into a man. This was not part of her plans. She can't trust people anymore now that the laws of the civilized have gone out the window. Daniel is a big guy and he's been alone since the apocalypse and when he runs into Ali he wants her. But he wants to protect her from the zombies and the rest of the human survivors. He sneaks his away into Ali's hideout and her heart slowly. She's doesn't want to like Daniel but she knows he can protect her and they eventually take off to find a better place to live. Along the way they run into trouble. In comes Finn to the rescue. Finn is a cop or at least he used to be until the world ended now he's just surviving. Like Daniel he wants human contact a beautiful woman is even better but Ali is already with Dan. He agrees to join them because there is strength in numbers although he jealous of the couple. Eventually Dan comes to the realization that he isn't enough for Ali he can't protect her on his own. He offers to share her with Finn. Ali is appalled at being with two men but things have changed and so have the rules. Being a woman in the zombie apocalypse is dangerous and she could use all the help she can get it doesn't hurt that she's attracted to Finn as well as Dan. Danger lurks around every corner but if the three of them stick together things will be alright. Ali is forced to navigate the world full of zombies, bad people and figuring out how to love two men at the same time.

I really enjoyed this book it was a lot of fun. I like that romance can bloom among the dead. Ali is a scared woman and she doesn't know who to trust and along comes Dan. He's pushy and forward and knows what he wants: Ali. But he not a creep like some of the male survivors left. He doesn't force Ali to do anything she doesn't want to do he's really patient and willing to let her figure out things on her own. They fight like cats and dogs but that's because Dan has the irrational need to protect her even from herself. Then Finn comes in and the sexual tension skyrockets. I loved when the three of them eventually get together it's really hot! The three of them have to figure out how to work as a triad. They all have to learn how to give and take. I liked and hated that the guys tended to take control of Ali a lot. It was hot because alpha men are super attractive but it also sucks because it made Ali seem weak. Though near the end of the book she seems to be able to stand up for herself with her men. The end of the book was unexpected and interesting kind of reminded me of a certain season of the walking dead. A really great book I find the concept original and haven't read any other books like it.
